A waxy fatty alcohol from plant oils — nothing like the drying alcohol in a sanitiser.
Gives the balm its thick, cushioned texture and helps the oils and water stay blended.
BetaineTrimethylglycine
A humectant originally derived from sugar beet.
Softens the feel of a wash and helps skin hold moisture even while it is being cleansed.
Butylene GlycolHumectant solvent
A small humectant molecule that dissolves and carries other ingredients.
Keeps the sunscreen fluid and even, so it spreads thinly instead of sitting in patches.
C15-19 AlkanePlant-derived emollient
A light emollient usually made from sugarcane, used in place of silicone.
Gives the conditioner its silky slip, so hair feels smooth without any silicone.
Capric/Caprylic TriglycerideCaprylic/Capric Triglyceride, MCT
A light emollient fraction taken from coconut oil.
Spreads easily and softens skin, so a cream sinks in rather than sitting on top.

A mild cleansing agent derived from coconut oil.
Creates a soft lather and makes the wash gentler than a sulphate would be.
Cocamidopropyl HydroxysultaineCoconut-derived cleanser
A close relative of cocamidopropyl betaine, also from coconut oil.
Adds mildness and a creamy foam — part of what makes the shampoo tear-free in normal use.
Coco-Caprylate/CaprateCoconut emollient ester
A light emollient ester made from coconut oil.
Helps the mineral sunscreen glide on and takes away the heavy feel mineral filters can have.
Coco-GlucosideSugar-based cleanser
A glucoside cleanser made from coconut oil and fruit sugar.
One of the sulphate-free cleansers doing the actual washing — gentle enough for daily bath time.
Cucumber ExtractCucumis Sativus Extract
Extract of the cucumber fruit.
Light and refreshing. Helps soothe skin that feels hot and uncomfortable after a day of play.
D-PanthenolPro-Vitamin B5, Panthenol
The alcohol form of vitamin B5, which skin and hair convert as they absorb it.
Helps skin and hair hold moisture, and leaves both feeling softer and smoother.

An emollient ester made from plant oils.
Softens the sunscreen so it spreads thinly and evenly over a wriggling child.

A conditioning agent derived from plant fatty acids.
Works with behentrimonium methosulfate to smooth the hair surface and cut down on tugging.
Essential OilNatural aromatic blend
A blend of natural aromatic plant oils, used at low levels for scent.

Butter pressed from the seeds of the kokum tree of the Western Ghats.

Clarified butter made from certified organic milk fat — the Ayurvedic moisturiser used on Indian babies for generations.
Comforts and softens dry skin. It is the ingredient parents ask us about most, and the reason the balm feels closer to an abhyanga than to a lab product.
PEG-100 StearateSee Glyceryl Stearate & PEG-100 Stearate
The co-emulsifier paired with glyceryl stearate.
Helps water and oil stay mixed in the sunscreen so the cream does not separate.
PhenoxyethanolPreservative
A widely used, well-studied preservative, permitted in baby cosmetics at low levels.
Keeps the product free of bacteria and mould from the day it is opened. A wet product used with wet hands genuinely needs preserving — this is the gentlest reliable option we have.
